Mosi is made from Ramie thread from the stalks of the ramie plant. After painstakingly stripping and separating each thread with their teeth, women would place the spool of Ramie thread at the center of this spool holder. The pointed ends of the spool holder would be passed between layers of thread back and forth to create the weave.
