The large wooden loom that woman would use to make Mosi cloth comes with this independent spool holder. Mosi is made from Ramie thread from the stalks of the ramie plant. After painstakingly stripping and separating each thread with their teeth, women would place the spool of Ramie thread at the center of this spool holder. The pointed ends of the spool holder would be passed between layers of thread back and forth to create the weave.

Short 13-minute documentary about Mosi-making (Spool Holder in use at 6:55)
