We first experienced artist Euna Joh’s work while in Seoul, and were so taken with her hand-made Moon Jar objets, we purchased them as gifts. Namu Home Goods worked together with Euna Joh to create a custom scent specially for Namu Home Goods. We’ve named our scent “Memories of Wood Grain” with notes of Amber, Cedarwood, Precious woods, Goa sandalwood. Our limited edition run of candles exist to celebrate the beautiful figure and sensibility of the Moon Jar in a new and unique representation. It is said that having a moon jar will bring you the best luck and hope those who have our candles will enjoy more peace and happiness. Keep and display or light – we recommend both uses.

Note: Candle manufacturing in Korea is quite regulated and only those artists and businesses who have been approved for candles can make them. The NGH x Euna Joh candles were subject to safety verification and we have listed all major substances and allergens below.

Main substance: palm wax, fragrance (2-methyl-2,4-pentanediol)
Allergens: Linalool, Benzyl benzoate

How to use
Please use a candle stand that does not burn.
Long wicks produce a lot of soot, so always cut the wicks within 1/4 inch before burning.
White turbidity may occur on the surface when stored for a long period of time.
Due to the nature of the product made of natural wax (soy/palm/beads, etc.), color fading, shrinkage, and cracking may occur.
Avoid sudden temperature changes and direct sunlight.

Care
Put on the plate or saucer that does not burn.
Cut the wick to within 1/4 inch before lighting.
Protect from high or low temperature and direct sunlight.

Euna Joh studied visual communication design at graduate school and encountered topics such as art, culture, crafts, and design in Korea for a long time due to the nature of her work. Euna felt it was only natural to melt into the beauty of Korea. Among the many cultural art assets from tradition, the generous and unpretentious appearance of the moon jar resembling the full moon fascinated her from the beginning. However, because a traditional porcelain moon jar is expensive to attain, Euna decided to create wax objects to allow others to enjoy the “value” of the moon jar without any pressure. Euna calls her candles a “moon jar objet”. The artist handmakes each candle handmade from start to finish, with delicate touch and affection. It is said that having a moon jar will bring you the best luck. In addition to the moon jar objet candle, she is attempting experimental works that add various variations, which open up a number of scalability as an artist.
